In case you couldn’t tell, we love cars here at GTChannel. Moreover, we love talking about cars. In fact, we love talking about cars so much that our Executive Producer Taro Koki, James Mckeone of NoBraking, and our good friend, author, and former Road & Track editor Sam Mitani make it a point to get together regularly at least twice a month to gab about everything automotive for over an hour!

Eventually, we figured it would probably be a good idea to record them while they’re doing that and thus the Podspeed podcast was born!

We may be a little biased, but the next time you’re looking for some fun automotive discussion to watch or listen to we really think you should check out Podspeed. The Podspeed podcast is available on iTunes but there are also clips available on GTChannel.com and on the Podspeed YouTube channel.

Despite it's simple beginnings, Podspeed has grown quite a bit since the early days and has gained a great audience. So, we decided to list for you our top 10 most popular episodes so far. We’re going to start and #10 and go all the way to the current most popular episode!

10. Fast & Furious Technical Advisor Craig Liberman (episode 35)

Kicking off the list at #10 is actually our 35th episode of Podspeed with guest Craig Lieberman. For those who don’t know, Craig served as the technical advisor for the first two Fast & Furious films and helped Universal source background cars for Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift. He was also the owner of the iconic orange Toyota Supra Paul Walker drove in the first film and the R34 GT-R that Paul drove in 2Fast 2Furious. Craig has a wealth of knowledge about the cars used in the films and has tons of interesting behind the scenes stories. He shares a few in this episode.

9. Rutledge Wood Favorites from Top Gear USA, NASCAR and Hyperdrive (episode 27)

Everyone’s favorite bearded gearhead was a guest on episode 27 of Podspeed and we were happy to have him join the crew! Rutledge has had a pretty incredible career so far, starting as a correspondent for NASCAR, then famously becoming one of the original hosts for Top Gear USA, to hosting “Hyperdrive” a game show on Netflix that was basically “Ninja Warrior” but with cars. In this episode Rutledge shares some of his favorite behind the scenes moments from the shows he worked on, talks about why he loves drifting, and his personal R33 GT-R!

8. How the GT-R got in to The Fast & The Furious (episode 17)

The Podspeed trio is joined by Sean Morris the owner of Toprank Importers, a name that should be familiar to those who are regular viewers of GTChannel. Toprank Importers is the go to spot for anyone looking to legally own and drive an R32, R33, or R34 Nissan GT-R in America. Sean has been in the import game for years and is a huge part of the reason why an R33 GT-R was in the first Fast & Furious film and in the second one as well. In this episode Sean talks about his GT-R connections and Universal came together to make the GT-R a star.

7. Jordan Greer of GTPlanet (episode 22)

Jordan Greer is the founder and creator of GTPlanet.com, the internet’s biggest unofficial hub for all things Gran Turismo. In this episode Jordan talks with the Podspeed crew about the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 and eSports racing. Then the group discusses Sam’s Ninja Otaku intel on the next Civic Type R.

6. McLaren with a trunk, 4-door GT-R? And more (episode 6)

Number 6 on our list just also happens to be episode 6 of Podspeed. This edition of Podspeed is all about discussing theories, rumors, and speculation with Sam leading the way. The crew discusses the possibility of a 4-door GT-R on the horizon, shares their opinions on the Volkswagen Golf 8, and talks about the massive Porsche meet, Luftgekuhlt.

5. Toyota Yaris GR, Supra Evolution, Supra TRD Edition, Infiniti G37 and more (episode 3)

This is definitely a throwback as in this episode of Podspeed the crew speculates about a new Toyota Yaris based off their rally car program. Today we know that the crew was actually right and Toyota in question went on to be released as the Yaris GR. They also talk about a rumored, more powerful variant of the Toyota GR Supra on the horizon.

4. Larry Chen Automotive Photographer Extraordinaire and the Nissan Z Proto (episode 28)

Famed automotive photographer Larry Chen visits the Podspeed crew in episode 28. Larry Chen is one of the most prolific car photogs in the business today and has shot motorsport events all over the world. Pikes Peak, 24 hours of Sebring, Formula Drift, Indy Car, you name it and Larry has shot it. He talks about some of his photography adventures with the trio in this episode and then they discuss the Nissan Z Proto reveal.

3. JDM Resto-mod builder Built by Legends! Supra GRMN, NSX Spyder, and more (episode 15)

Getting near the top of the list now! In this classic episode, Sam leads the trio in another round of his trademark speculation about a new GR Supra variant, an NSX Spyder, Lexus LF-1 and more. Then Taro drops knowledge about the “Built By Legends” crew, a team of top-notch builders who specialize in restoring iconic Japanese cars like the R32 GT-R.

2. Arisa Mizuhara Toyota GR Yaris Drift & Rally Driver (episode 34)

Double threat pro-driver, Arisa Mizuhara stopped in for episode 34 of Podspeed. Not only is Arisa an accomplished rally driver in Japan, she is also a professional drifter. When she isn’t driving in rally stages, she pilots a 800 horsepower Toyota Yaris GR drift car as a Cusco works driver. The story of what inspired her to become a driver is pretty unique too. We really recommend checking this episode out, especially if you support women in motorsports!

1. Sung Kang - Han from Fast & Furious, FuguZ and Karaoke with Sonny Chiba During Tokyo Drift (episode 30)

Here we are! The most popular episode of Podspeed is when Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift actor Sung Kang who plays “Han” joined the trio. Sung talks about his experiences filming the Fast and Furious films including the upcoming Fast 9, his crazy “FuguZ” 240Z project car, and his connections to car culture. Sam goes into speculation mode on the Nissan Z Proto while James talks about his experience with the 50th Anniversary 370Z.
