In the latest episode of Podspeed, actor and gearhead Sung Kang shares his plans for an upcoming 240Z build, inspired by Datsun's 1971 East African Rally-winning car. Kang plans to incorporate a Japanese koi (carp) design into the paint using techniques more commonly used by lowrider painters and stylists.

Sung Kang's forthcoming "Doc Z" build was born of his desire to learn the S30 chassis (first-generation of Datsun's Z car) inside and out. To help him along, Kang connected with Erick Aguilar, a Los Angeles-area import legend, racer, and 240Z Jedi.

Sung Kang has more than 240Z's on his mind. He's also got a six-cylinder Porsche 914 project in mind called the Viceroy 914, part of what he envisions as a series of bespoke 914s along the lines of the slick resto-mods made by Singer and Emory Motorsports. The Viceroy will have a six-cylinder engine, sequential transmission, center-lock wheels and 380mm custom steering wheel.
