The owner of this 1989 Porsche 911 wanted a mild street performer that could double as a daily-driver, dinner date ride and a canyon carver. One of the most striking aspects of this third-gen 911 (964 internal designation) is the gray-black paint job. Originally, the car was standard black with tan interior.

Porsche 911 (964): Street Performer Does Double-Duty

This 1989 911 originally featured a tan interior, which the new owner swapped with black upholstery, including Recaro Pole Position seats in black leather. Reducing weight is always a good step to going fast, and this car features lightweight 911 RS carpet and door panels, and has had its rear seat removed.

1989 Porsche 911: Just Add Lightness

This 911 is not only dialed from the inside out, but also the bottom up. An H&R coilover suspension, new bushings for control and trailing arms, and strut bar bracing give this Porsche its dynamic edge. The owner added some JDM flair with Volk Racing wheels and Falken tires.

1989 Porsche 911: Proper Stance And Sway For Corner Carving

The 911’s 3.6-liter flat-six engine was rebuilt within the last few years, and augmented with intake, headers and exhaust. The owner estimates output at around 275 horsepower and says future projects are simple: just have as much fun as he can with it.
