Rob Choo and GTChannel show you a detailed install of the KW Suspension DDC Coilovers.
The DDC is a perfect match for our E92 M3.  It lets us adjust between comfort and performance by just pressing a button just like the stock M3 EDC suspension.  Performance and convenience with zero compromise!

The DDC coilovers not only give us the ability to remotely adjust the stiffness but they also did not compromise the comfort and luxury of the M3.  The KW suspension also improved the handling of our BMW.  The stiffer suspension is better able to cope with the significantly grippier Yokohoma AD08 tires.

Remove wheel as a first step. Detach Brake line and sensor. Disconnect the pickup point of the waybar. Remove shock out of the front suspension. Remove top hat and rubber gasket to trasnfer over to the new suspension.

Jack Up Vehicle and Remove Wheels

Match the transferable parts on the new shock. Match marking to the index. Clean out the perch area for suspension transfer. .

Mark Alignment of Guide Pin

Attach new suspension. Re-attach brackets and shock bolts. Adjust the perch and re-align the shock into the hole. Tighten your top bolts. Re-connect all sensor wires. .

Insert New Suspension

Repeat previous steps for the passenger side shock.

Repeat Steps for Passenger Side

Remove interior trim as needed to access rear shock. Locate EDC and remove off the top of the shock.

Prep Rear Shocks

Use a wrench on the landing to hold the strut rod. Use a socket to loosen the nut.

Hold Strut Rod 

Adjust threaded perch height and helper spring on the new shock as needed.

Adjust Perch and Spring

An important step. Install the height adjust perch and spring. Tighten bolts down securely as needed.

Measure Ride Height as Stock

Locate area wherein the ECU will live. Run all cables through the hole as needed and connect to the ECU.

Install ECU

Make sure to run the appropriate wires to each shock.

Run Wires to Shock

De-pin one wire and connect it. Then, do the next one to reduce the chance of mistakes.

De-pin Wires and Connect

Install EDC emulation modules--this will fool the stock ECU into thinking stock shocks are still connected.
